Art & Craft Vendors

IS IT TRASH OR IS IT ART?

The Pirates & Boots Festival will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 11 am to 6 pm and will feature local bands, local restaurants, and the Pirate Market of local artists and vendors. If you are interested in participating in the Pirate Market as a vendor or an artist, please submit this application. Because space is limited, we will select vendors/artists that bring a unique craft, product, or art that aligns with Louisiana cultural heritage and are willing to cooperate with festival management without complaints about booth placement or the expectation of special treatment.

The Pirates & Boots Festival would like to educate and excite the community about waste reduction, reuse, and recycling in Terrebonne Parish and to inspire them to see the things they may otherwise consider trash in a new, beautiful way. The Festival will be able to succeed in its mission by bringing together highly talented artists who create amazing pieces of art by using a minimum of 75% recycled materials. Visitors to the Pirates & Boots Festival are entertained, amazed, and excited by the creativity that is on display; creativity that inspires people to think twice before tossing out unwanted items.

You will be provided a 12-foot x 12-foot space and will be responsible for providing everything including tents, chairs, tables, and display material. The location for each vendor will be given out on a first-come-first-served basis.  Electricity will not be provided.  Vendors are allowed to bring in bottled water and soft drinks for personal consumption but we are asking vendors to NOT SELL DRINKS as that is one of the few mechanisms we have to make money at the festival.

The festival grounds will be open by 8:30 am for loading and setting up, and you will be expected to be festival-ready by 10:45 am on the day of the festival.  Although the festival will end at 6:30 pm, vendors can begin breaking down their tents as early as 5:30 pm.

Early applications are due by Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Vendors/artists selected to participate in the Pirate Market will be notified by Wednesday, March 15, 2023, and a $40 vendor fee will be due by Thursday, March 23, 2023. Late applications may be accepted after Thursday, March 23, 2023, but late applicants that are accepted to participate in the Pirate Market will be assessed a $60 vendor fee. No applications will be accepted after Saturday, April 15, 2023. Information on fee payment will be made available when each vendor is notified of being accepted to the Pirate Market.
